Karen has a 20 year work history as a medical social worker with a specialization in older adults. Karen assists clients with resource planning, long term care planning and with adjusting to changes in health status. Karen received her BA in Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received her Master's in Social Work from Boston University School of Social Work. In 2009, Karen received the Caregiver of the Year Award from the Home Care and Hospice Alliance of Maine. She is on the board of the York County Elder Abuse Task Force.
Karen is an "elder care coordinator" (ECC), though clients need not be "elderly" to receive these services. An ECC provides in home assessments, coordinates client care needs and insurance and provides support and guidance to clients of the firm and their families.
