Veterans have two options as far as disability programs are concerned. Disabilities because of injuries sustained during active duty or if the service during active duty made the existing injury worse are covered through disability compensation while disability pension compensates any veteran who is permanently disabled regardless of whether or not the disability is due to their military service. There are conditions attached to disability pensions. Many veterans may not even think they qualify when, in fact, they do.
