Aging in place is the goal; wanting to stay in our homes as long as possible is the quintessential decision one can make. One of the hardest choices to make is selecting the appropriate in-home provider for your loved one and yourself. There are many criteria from which to choose. The first would be what level of care the person requires as this will drive other decisions such as deciding whether to hire an agency or go private and then locating someone nearby. Adult daycare is another option that allows seniors to spend time socializing with peers and enjoying activities that interest them. A critical factor in all this is to decide how the financial aspect of this plays in. You should find out what Medicare and Medicaid will cover. If you do not have Medicaid, you should consider applying for coverage.
